Mit einem Auto vom Divkonach fahren wir über Floyon, Etroeungt, Avesnes nach les Fontaine. Hier richten wir eine Station ein und besetzen sie. Wir übernachten auf einem Boden.

With a car we travel from Divkonach via Floyon, Etroeungt and Avesnes to les Fontaine. Here, we set up a station and man it. We spend the night on a garret.

4. November 1918

Abends rücken wir von Marlemperche ab nach Fontenelle. Hier übernachten wir.

In the evening we march off from Marlempeche to Fontenelle. Here, we stay for the night.

26. Oktober 1918

Ein Trupp rückt nach, um die Station Mars in Marlemperche zu besetzen.

In Marlemperche verrichte ich auf einer guten Station recht angenehmen Stationsdienst. Die Quartiere sind gut, die Verpflegung vorzüglich. Einmal bauen wir auch eine Leitung nach vorne. Doch schon bald wird der deutsche Rückzug fortgesetzt werden.

At Marlemperche I do quite a comfortable service in a good station. Quarters are good and provisions are excellent. Only once, we do build a communications line to the front. But soon the german retreat is to continue.

A Marlempeche ho un servizio molto comodo in una buona stazione. La sistemazione è buona e il trattamento eccellente. Una sola volta dobbiamo stendere una linea di comunicazione al fronte. Ma ben presto la ritirata tedesca continuerà.

25. Oktober 1918

Man schickt mich als Vorkommando nach Marlemperche, um dort die Station in Augenschein zu nehmen.

I am sent as an advance guard to Marlemperche to take a look onto the communications station there.

24. Oktober 1918

Über Floyon marschiere ich nach Fontenelle und melde mich dort bei der Truppe zurück. Ich übernachte bei meinen Kameraden auf einem Heuboden.

Via Floyon I march on to Fontenelle, there I report back to the troops. I spend the night together with the comrades on a hayloft.

23. Oktober 1918

Am Nachmittag marschiere ich über Zorées nach Etroungt. Hier bleibe ich während der Nacht.

In the afternoon I march via Zorées to Etroungt. Here I stay for the night.

22. Oktober 1918

Noch immer bin ich in der Löffelfabrik, diesem schauerlichen Gefängnis untergebracht. Am Nachmittag werden wir geschlossen im Transport zum Bahnhof geführt. Abends fahre ich mit dem Zug nach Sains du Nord. Hier übernachte ich.

I am still in the spoon factory, this gruesome prison. In the afternoon we get transported as a group to the station. In the evening, a train takes me to Sains du Nord. Here, I stay for the night.

Mi trovo ancora nella fabbrica di cucchiai, questa orribile prigione. Nel pomeriggio ci portano in gruppo alla stazione. La sera, mi portano in treno a Sains du Nord. E qui pernottiamo.
