Um 5 Uhr morgens treffen wir in Altona ein. Ich setze mich in den Wartesaal. Erst 729 Uhr geht die Fahrt weiter nach Elmshorn, Wrist, Neumünster, Rendsburg nach Schleswig. Gegen 10 Uhr treffe ich dort ein.Mit meinem Gepäck fahre ich nach Schloß Gottorp hinaus und melde mich hier auf der Schreibstube. Hier gibt mir der Bescheid, daß ich in einer Stunde wiederkommen soll. Solange setze ich mich in die Kantine. Nachher erzählt man mir auf der Schreibstube, daß ich bis Montag warten und hier bleiben müsse, um mich dann dem Arzt vorzustellen. Es gelingt mir aber doch, Sonntagsurlaub nach Lübeck zu bekommen, muß die Fahrt aber selbst bezahlen. Nachmittags fahre ich von Schleswig fort, wieder über Rendsburg, Neumünster, Altona, Hamburg und dann nach Lübeck. Um 8 Uhr abends bin ich im Hause.
At 5a.m. we arrive in Altona (station in Hamburg). I have a seat in the waiting room. The next train isn't till 7.29, through Elmshorn, Wrist, Neumünster, Rendsburg to Schleswig. I arrive there about 10a.m. I go with my luggage to Gottorp castle and report to the office there. Here they tell me that I should come back in an hour. I sit down in the mess to wait. Then they tell me in the office that I have to stay here and wait until Monday, so that I can then report to the doctor. But I manage to get leave to spend Sunday in Lübeck, although I have to pay the fare myself. I set off from Schleswig, back through Rendsburg, Neumünster, Altona, Hamburg and then to Lübeck. At 8p.m. I am at home.
