2. Januar 1919

---
In the afternoon I am invited again to the Uckermann family for coffee. But still I can not eat very much. My landlady says, it seems I get fed by love. It also appears to me like that! After having our coffee, we leave for a walk. Dorchen's mother accompanies us quite a way out of town and then returns. We proceed on our own. But soon the sky overcasts with dark clouds and rain seems to be imminent. So we return home and arrive at the Vogelsang when darkness falls. In the evening I am again at Uckermanns. Dorchen's parents are very kind to me. I often play the piano. --- the next days I do my usual service at the post office, but of course during daytime I am less often there than before. At noon and in the evening I mostly pick Dorchen up at the bank. One evening, when I do the night service, Dorchen also has to work late hours. I try to reach her several times. She wants to come to the post office at 10 p.m. and wait there. I leave the ofice at 10. After a short while, she arrives with her friend. I bring them up to the Vogelsang and then return to the post office. One of the next evenings, I am invited at Uckermanns again.

Sembra pure a me!
