Es soll eigentlich Ruhetag für uns sein. Vor allem müssen die Pferde notwendig geschont werden. – Wir rücken der Abteilung nach über Palmersheim, Odendorf, Ober-Drees nach Mohrenhoven. Hier essen wir und ziehen dann wegen eines schlechten Quartiers mit unserem Trupp weiter über Buschhoven, Impekoven, Duisdorf nach Poppelsdorf, einer Vorstadt von Bonn. Zusammen mit 2 Kameraden beziehe ich Quartier bei einem Bäcker. Zu unserem großen Erstaunen stellt man uns sogar Betten für die Nacht zur Verfügung.
Actually, this was said to be a day of rest for us. Especially the horses need a rest. - We follow the detachment via Palmersheim, Odendorf and Ober-Drees to Mohrenhoven. Because of the bad quarters, we quickly take our meal and then move on via Buschhoven, Impekoven and Duisdorf to Poppelsdorf, which is a suburb of Bonn. Together with two comrades we take our billets in a bakery. To our great astonishment, we are even provided with a bed for the night.

Questo, in realtà, doveva essere un giorno di riposo per noi. I cavalli, specialmente, avevano bisogno di riposo. Seguiamo il reparto via Palmersheim, Odendorf, Ober-Drees verso Mohrenhoven. Per via della pessima sistemazione, prendiamo un rapido rancio e ci muoviamo subito via Buschhoven, Impekoven e Duisdorf fino a Poppelsdorf, un sobborgo di Bonn. Con due camerati ci sistemiamo in un panificio. Con nostra grande sorpresa, abbiamo perfino un letto per la notte.
