AntwortenLöschenWhat does Dieter mean by "setting up the station"? Obviously, the war has ended, did they really behave as if this was no journey home but a retreat, setting up readiness for combat action? Strange.
AntwortenLöschenI'm guessing it has less to do with maintaining preparedness for war and more to do with the German sense of order and discipline. The unit has maintained its coherence in preparation for orderly discharges.
AntwortenLöschenA more literal translation of Station would be "post". Words with the same spelling don't necessarily have the same connotation.
