Nachmittags findet die Neuaufstellung der Kompanie statt. Die jungen Rekruten werden alle eingegliedert. Ich bleibe auf meinem bisherigen Posten. Die 25 Mann der alten Jahrgänge bis 96 rücken ab. Ich verabschiede mich von allen. Unter ihnen sind Reinecker, Wendt, Voigt, Bornhövd, Wehde, Osting, Jürgens, Frahm, Martens, Marek, Brüggmann und viele andere, mit denen ich in Munster Lager und Wolterdingen zusammen war. Der alte Verein bricht zusammen. Wann kommen wir dran? Wilstermann fährt auf Urlaub und nimmt einen Brief für Annemie mit. Seine Vertretung übernehme ich. Es ist sehr kaltes Wetter.

I say goodbye to them all. The old club is breaking up. When will it be our turn? Wilstermann is going on leave and takes a letter for Annemie with him. I take on deputising for him. Very cold weather.
