Weiterfahrt am Mittag von Kolmar über Rappoltsweiler, Schlettstadt nach Straßburg. Eine wunderschöne und interessante Bahnstrecke. Ständig fahren wir am Fuße der bewaldeten Vogesen entlang, deren Bergkuppen mit Burgen und Ruinen geschmückt sind. Burg reiht sich an Burg, Ruine an Ruine. Ein ganz wunderbares Bild! Den majestätischen und imposantesten Anblick bietet ohne Zweifel die Hohkönigsburg. Das ganze Elsaß gleicht einem wunderhübschen Garten. Man kann sich nicht satt sehen an all den vielen abwechslungsreichen Schönheiten, die sich dem Auge darbieten. Dieses wunderschöne Land möchte ich einmal im Frieden durchwandern.Auf dem Bahnhof in Straßburg haben wir einige Stunden Aufenthalt. Leider kommen wir nicht hinaus; ich hätte mir zu gerne einmal die Stadt angesehen. Trotzdem sehen wir den Turm des Münsters hoch in die Luft ragen. Die Weiterfahrt führt uns über Zabern, Saarburg nach Metz.
We leave Kolmar at noon for Strassburg via Rappoltsweier, Schlettstadt. A very beautiful and interesting railway line. All the time it leads along the foot of the Vosges mountains, the hilltops being decorated with castles and ruins. Castle lines up to castle and ruin to tuin. What a lovely picture! Without a doubt, castle Hohköningsburg offers the most impressive and majestic view. The whole of Alsace appears like a wonderful garden. One can not see enough of all those ever-changing beauties that are presented. One day, I hope to hike through this wonderful land in peace times.At the Strassburg train station, we do stop for several hours. Unfortunately, we are not to leave the station; I would have loved to see the city. Nevertheless, we see the tower of the Munster [the Strassburg cathedral] rising up high. The journey leads us further via Zabern and Saarburg to Metz.

A mezzogiorno lasciamo Colmar per Strasburgo via Rapportsweiler, Sélestat. Una bellissima e molto interessante linea ferroviaria. Per tutto il percorso essa corre ai piedi dei Vosgi, le cui cime sono decorate da castelli e rovine. Castelli dopo castelli e rovine dopo rovine. Un magnifico quadro! Senza dubbio, il castello di Haut Koenigsburg è la vista più impressionante e grandiosa. L'intera Alsazia sembra un meraviglioso giardino. Non ne hai mai abbastanza di quelle bellezze sempre cangianti che ti si presentano. Un giorno, spero di poter vagabondare per questi luoghi, ma in tempo di pace.Alla stazione di Strasburgo ci fermiamo per qualche ora. Sfortunatamente non possiamo uscire all'esterno; mi sarebbe piaciuto visitare la città. Riusciamo comunque a vedere il campanile della Cattedrale di Strasburgo che si erge nel cielo. Il viaggio prosegue per Metz, passando per Saverne e Saarburg.
