Wieder einmal werden die Trupps neu eingeteilt. Ich komme zum Trupp Ohlerich. Inzwischen sieht man überall die großen Vorbereitungen für die kommende Frühjahrsoffensive. Sämtliche Zufahrtsstraßen zur Front sind mit Nummern versehen. Auf den Strassen stehen schwere Geschütze zum Einsatz bereit. Jedes Dorf ist vollgestopft mit Soldaten. Wir packen alle nicht unbedingt notwendigen Sachen zusammen, die in Clary verbleiben. Eine Wache sorgt dafür, daß nichts verschwindet.

All access roads to the front are marked with numbers. On the roads, big guns are ready for action. Every village is crammed with soldiers. We pack up all things that are not absolutely needed, to leave them in Clary. A guard takes care that nothing disappears.

Tutte le vie di accesso al fronte sono segnalate da numeri. Sulle strade, grandi cannoni sono già pronti all'azione. Tutti i villaggi sono pieni di soldati. Accantoniamo tutto quello che non è strettamente necessario per lasciarlo a Clary. Una guardia vigila affinché niente venga portato via.
