Abends von 7-10 Uhr Verladen der Wagen, Pferde und Mannschaften auf dem Bahnhof Langerbrugge. Mit den Pionieren zusammen bilden wir einen Transport. Die Reise soll nach Russland gehen. Unser schon lange gehegter Wunsch soll endlich in Erfüllung gehen. Hätte die Division nicht so viele Verluste in der Flandernschlacht gehabt, wären wir auf keinen Fall von der Westfront fortgekommen. Auch unsere Fernsprechabteilung hatte viele Verluste. Man sagt, die Kaiserin hätte die Ablösung der Division im Westen durchgedrückt; sie ist nämlich Chef unseres Füsilier-Regiments 86. Abends um 10 Uhr fahren wir von Gent ab.
In the evening 07:00 to 10:00 p.m. we are loading the carts, horses and personnel at the Langerbrugge station. Alongside with the pioneers we form one transport. The journey's destination is Russia. Our long-lasting wish finally is about to become reality. Hadn't the division had these heavy casualties in the Flanders battle, we would not have gotten away from the western front. Our signallers also had many casualties. Word is, that the Empress herself has forced to relieve the division; she is Chief of the 86th fusilier regiment. In the evening at 10:00 p.m. we are leaving Gent.
