Es wurde höchste Eisenbahn, daß wir gestern abend noch abrückten. Heute morgen nämlich ist der Tommy schon bis zum Ostrand des Waldes vorgedrungen und sitzt in Schaap-Balie. Wären wir in unserem Bunker nur noch einige Stunden geblieben, so hätte er uns gekitscht.Während der Vormittagsstunden rücken die Trupps ab nach Gits. Am Nachmittag empfangen wir hier Verpflegung und marschieren weiter nach Lichtervelde. Die Wagen mit den Wagenbegleitern fahren weiter, wir übrigen übernachten auf einem Boden im Orte.

The carts and their attendants carry on, the rest of us spend the night in a local garret.

Questa mattina i Tommy sono avanzati fino al limite orientale del bosco ed ora occupano Schaap-Balie. Fossimo stati nel bunker solo qualche ora in più, ci avrebbero colpito.Durante il mattino le truppe partono per Gits. Nel pomeriggio riceviamo rifornimenti e marciamo su Lichtervelde. I veicoli e gli addetti ad essi vanno avanti, il resto di noi passa la notte in una soffitta.
