- In Mori (Stockelsdorf) bei Lübeck aufgewachsen, habe ich bereits von 1916 bis 1918 am Ersten Weltkrieg im Füsilierregiment "Königin" Nr. 86 teilgenommen. Im August 1939 wurde ich als Veteran in die Wehrmacht eingezogen. In diesem Blog veröffentliche ich mein Kriegstagebuch.

Es regnet den ganzen Tag. Rundfunkmeldungen kündigen an, daß deutsche Truppen in Dänemark und Norwegen eingerückt sind. Die Kompanie fährt nachmittags nach Dortmund, um dort eine K.d.F.-Veranstaltung zu besuchen. Ich bleibe zu Hause. It rains the whole day. Radio announcements tell us that German troops have moved into Denmark and Norway. In the afternoon the company goes to Dortmund in order to attend a Strength Through Joy event. I stay at home. FRA

No coal was left - just not a drop.
The coal trains simply couldn't go,
Their rails clogged up with ice and snow.

Sonntag. Mit Familie Schramm mache ich einen Spaziergang nach Könoigsborn. Dort trinken wir Kaffee. Herrliches Wetter. Sunday. I go for a walk to Königsborn with the Schramm family. We have a coffee there. Wonderful weather. FRA
