- In Mori (Stockelsdorf) bei Lübeck aufgewachsen, habe ich bereits von 1916 bis 1918 am Ersten Weltkrieg im Füsilierregiment "Königin" Nr. 86 teilgenommen. Im August 1939 wurde ich als Veteran in die Wehrmacht eingezogen. In diesem Blog veröffentliche ich mein Kriegstagebuch.

Sonntag. Am Nachmittag machen wir einen „Betriebsausflug“ nach der Schlauser Mühle. Dort treffen wir mit Uffz. Wendt und seiner Geschützbedienung zusammen. Es herrscht großartige Stimmung! Sunday. In the afternoon, we have a "works outing" to the Schlauser Mühle. There we meet with Unteroffizier Wendt and his gun crew. We have a great time! FRA

Das Ekel, mit Hans Moser
An dieser Stelle ein kleiner Ausschnitt des Films "Das Ekel" an dem Dieter sicherlich seine Freude gehabt haben wird. Schwank (D 1939) mit Hans Moser.
Querulant Karl Sträubler (Hans Moser) führt Kleinkriege mit der halben Welt. Nach einem Wutanfall über die quietschende Straßenbahn und den Schwiegersohn in spe, landet er für 14 Tage im Knast. Hier, oh Wunder, wird der Haustyrann zum liebenswerten Zeitgenossen…

Morgens fahre ich allein mit der Straßenbahn von Schlauser Mühle nach Aachen. Es ist regnerisches Wetter. Ich besichtige den Dom und den Krönungssaal im Rathaus. Nachdem ich zu Mittag gegessen habe, treffe ich Butt und Wilstermann. Wir gehen zusammen zum Schwimmen in die Schwimmhalle in der Elisabethstraße, trinken Kaffee im „Kaffee Vaterland“ und pilgern dann zum Ufapalast.Wir sehen „Das Ekel“ mit Hans Moser. Anschließend gehen wir zum Abendessen. Um 12 Uhr sind wir wieder in Venwegen.
In the morning I take the tram from the Schlauser Mühle to Aachen on my own. It
is rainy. I visit the dome and the coronation halli n the town hall. After
having lunch I meet Butt and Wilstermann. Together, we go for a swim to the
swimming hall in Elisabethenstraße, have a coffee at café Vaterland and then
stroll to the Ufa palace [note: a cinema chain back then].We see "The Grouch" with Hans Moser. Afterwards, we go for dinner. At midnight, we are back again.

1918 - ca. 1947. On the construction of the Siegfried Line. Reel 1,
shows views of various Ger. cities and maps the site of the
fortifications. Dr. Todt studies plans, officers survey the land, and
draftsmen draw plans. An animated chart depicts the Todt engineering
organization. The ground is cleared, steel is made in mills, and
railroads move supplies to the site. Workers arrive, march to the site,
live in barracks, eat and construct and camouflage forts. Reel 2,
Hitler, Todt, and staff arrive to inspect construction. Shows antitank
obstructions and trenches, barbed wire entanglements, and the Fr. and
Ger. fortifications facing each other across the Rhine. An animated
diagram shows the interlocking fields of fire from pillboxes. A column
of Ger. soldiers marches into an entrance of the Siegfried Line. Men
and supplies move by train and elevators through tunnels and levels of
the line. Shows various interior views of the fortifications. Ammunition
is rushed to the surface by elevator during a drill. Barrage balloons
