At noon, ...In the morning, we march on to Floreffe. At noon, the truce is published. With this, the militant actions come to an end. And only yesterday Tommy almost had taken away our lifes! Bah, how mean! We take quarters in the village. So now we continue to march on with direction pointing to Germany. <br />The belgian people do their best to show their feelings towards the Germans. All villages are flagged with belgian and french colors. Young boys and children wear the country's colors on their clothing and sing the Marseillaise to anger us. Endless columns pour over the country roads heading for the german homeland. Many cars wear the red flags. But everyone is happy that the horrible war had come to an end. But that it has found this ignominious end for Germany, is infinitely sad.Thomasnoreply@blogger.com
