We receive...Finally, the long-awaited moment comes. We receive orders to leave our little shelter, which meanwhile has grown all too uncomfortable. How often had we been ready in the last days and nights, equipped with steel helmet and gas masks, to leave it when the heavies [shelling] crashed all too fiercy all around us! 11:00 p.m. in the evening we grapple our gear and finally leave our shelter.
